FAQ
What is the usual installation time?
The usual time is 24 to 48 business hours to receive a call for your appointment. Installation times may vary depending on demand and the time of the year.
If you need to replace your water heater quickly (in case of a breakdown, for example), please let us know so that we can prioritize your request.
How does the rental with Enbridge Énov work?
Once your order has been received by our teams, you will receive an email with your rental agreement, which you will need to sign. You will also receive a call from our partner Lakeside to schedule an installation appointment. Once installed, you will receive a monthly invoice.
What do our monthly rental rates include?
Our rates are fixed and will not increase during your 10-year rental agreement, allowing you to better plan your future budget.
They include :
- Draining and removal of your old water heater (if you own it);
- A new high-performance water heater;
- Valve replacement
- Installation of your new water heater
- 24/7 assistance service in case of breakdowns or issues with your new water heater.
Please note that to benefit from these rates, the rental must be to replace an electric water heater of equivalent capacity, and in the same location in your home.
Our installation teams must have easy access to your water heater for replacement. We kindly ask you to clear any obstacles between your front door and your water heater to facilitate the work of our teams.
Are there any additional costs during installation?
Your plumbing must comply with the Quebec Plumbing Code and your municipality’s regulations. Your electrical panel must also comply with the Quebec Electrical Code.
There may be additional fees payable to the installers at the time of installation for the following reasons:
- Access to the water heater not cleared, requiring time from our installation teams.
- Replacement or installation of a water inlet valve.
- Connection of the retention tank to the floor drain.
- Upgrade to meet electrical standards.
- Elevation platform for the water heater to connect the safety valve to the wall drain.
- Any modification to the building’s plumbing.
What are the advantages of renting compared to buying?
The decision to rent or buy depends on your needs, expectations, and situation. Renting offers a unique turnkey service, without any initial investment. As for the purchase, it represents a significant investment from day one.
By choosing to rent, you will benefit from 24/7 assistance, 365 days a year, including holidays, at no cost. Additionally, you will be entitled to a free replacement of the water heater at the end of its useful life.
What happens if I plan to sell my home?
You must notify Enbridge Énov of any change of ownership as soon as possible. In case of sale of your property, you must indicate it in the seller’s declaration and the deed of sale, mentioning that the new owner must continue the rental agreement. Thus, this agreement is transferred to the new owner.
I have a natural gas water heater with Enbridge Gaz Québec at the end of its life, can I convert to an electric water heater?
This depends on your situation. We invite you to contact Enbridge Gaz Québec at 819-771-8321 to discuss the available options. However, please note that a visit to your home will be necessary to provide an estimate of the monthly rental rate. We need to check:
- The electrical capacity of the installation to support the power required by the electric water heater.
- Possible modification of the electrical wiring and proper grounding for safety reasons.
- Adaptation of the water heater location to allow adequate ventilation and avoid overheating.
- Consideration of installation and maintenance costs associated with this change.
How to pay my rental fees?
You will receive a monthly invoice by email, which you can pay by bank transfer or pre-authorized debit.
